We invite young children and families to partner with Habitat through a range of safe, age-appropriate activities. For more information about any of these activities, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Habitat office at 434-309-2688.
Blitz Build Breakfast and Lunch Servers
Local churches prepare and deliver breakfast and lunch for our volunteers during the Blitz Build weekend, and we need volunteers to help serve these meals. This activity offers youth groups, scouts, and families with young children an opportunity to meet regular volunteers and construction staff -- and to learn more about our organization-- in an environment that is safe for even the youngest Habitat supporters. The Blitz Build weekend is normally the third Saturday and Sunday of October.
Many families support Habitat by making a family donation or by participating in our Nickels for Nails Campaign . (We are happy to provide a Habitat paint can or wooden house for this purpose). The Nickels for Nails campaign is a great way for families to collect spare change at their own discretion and then donate the jar after a set amount of time.
Help with set-up, food service, or hospitality at one of our joyful home dedications, neighborhood celebrations or other special event. Kids are welcome and often enjoy passing out programs, blowing up balloons, or welcoming guests.
